Some roads are closed and difficult to pass in Armenia

The Ministry of ES of RA has informed that some roads are closed and difficult to pass in the Republic of Armenia․

Due to the weather conditions, we urge you to drive in case of absolute necessity.

 

The roadways leading from "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to Amberd fortress and to Kari lake in Aragatsotn province, Vardenyats Pass, Berd-Chambarak, Vanadzor-Dilijan (because of poor visibility), Alagyaz-Artik, Jermuk-Saravan-Sisian-"Zanger"-Goris roadways, Kapan-Tatev, Goris-Tatev, Kapan-Kajaran roadways of Syunik province, Lanjar-Lusashogh roadway of Ararat province, Mets Sariar-Krashen-Lernut, Artik-Nahapetavan, Tsoghamarg-Bavra roadways, roadways of Amasia and Ashotsk regions of Shirak province, roadways Aragats region of Aragatsotn province and intercommunity roadways of Vardenis region of Gegharkunik province are closed.

Stepanavan turns of Lori province and the roadway leading from Dilijan turns to Bagratashen of Tavush province are closed for trucks with trailersand difficult to pass for other types of vehicles (in case of applying chains).

Spitak turns of Lori province, roadways of Syunik Province, intercommunity roadways of Aparan region of Aragatsotn province, Amasia-Kaps, Jajur-Keti, Artik-Mantash roadways of Shirak province are difficult to pass.

Black ice is noticed on roadways of  Aparan, Aragats and Talin regions of Aragatsotn province.

There is blizzard on Aragyugh-Buzhakan, Artavaz-Hankavan roadways, in the section called "Chayni turns", in Charentsavan region of Kotayk province, on 45-46 km of Yerevan-Sevan roadway, in Gegharkunik province, in Aragats and Aparan regions of Aragatsotn province, in Ashotsk, Artik, Maralik and Amasia regions of Shirak province, Vanadzor-Dilijan, Jermuk-Gndevaz, Hovuni-Jajur-Kaps-Keti roadways, and snowstorm - in the mountainous areas of Vayots Dzor province.

It is snowing in the whole territory of the Republic (except Armavir, Gegharkunik, Shirak provinces).

About Larsi

According to the information provided by the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and from the Department of Crisis Management Center of the Republic of North Ossetia of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is closed. There are about 400 trucks on the Russian side.

Drivers are recommended to drive exclusively on winter tires.
