MES Regional Rescue departments are ready for winter season

On the 29th of November the summary of the results of monthly activities of the Rescue Service headed by the Minister Andranik Piloyan was held in the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Deputy Director of MES Rescue Service Hovhannes Yemishyan reported on the measures taken during the month and on the current activities.

In the accounting period 2 command and staff, 7 staff and 23 special tactical exercises were conducted by the territorial subdivisions of the Rescue Service. 8 rescue servicemen participated in the requalification exercise of Swiss team organized by the secretariat of the UN International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) in the city of Geneva, the Swiss Confederation. According to the instructions of the Minister, professional support in the activities implemented by the local self-government bodies continues being provided to improve the shelter conditions throughout the republic.

The head of the Crisis Management National Center of the Rescue Service of the MES Arsen Mkrtchyan, the head of the Rear and Logistics department Mher Mnatsakanyan, the heads of Regional Rescue departments also presented reports. The latters introduced the preparatory and current activities implemented in the regions conditioned with the winter season.

According to the report of the head of the Crisis Management National Center, 55331 calls were served by “911” emergency call center, compared to 57440 calls received the previous year in the same period. 520 calls were served by the Fire alarm system. 656 emergency cases and accidents were registered in the republic during a month.

At the end of the advisory meeting Minister Andranik Piloyan gave assignments on placing warming winter shelters, providing with technical equipment and fuel, and other issues related to the current activities. The Minister emphasized the importance of the continuance of the exercises and highlighted that hereinafter the exercises must be conducted with more realistic scenarios. A. Piloyan expressed his gratitude to the heads of the regional departments for the service.
