Today the joint coordination remote meeting of the Twinning program officially confirmed the end of the initial project evaluation phase, defining the beginning of the main work processes.

Colonel Hovhannes Yemishyan, the Deputy Director of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and programme manager Marie Velasquez Fredriksson made opening remarks. They talked about the initial phase of the project, its capacity and purpose.

Project Co-Chair John Andersen presented a summary of the capacity assessment report, which identified issues related to the components of the project by international experts.

The international leaders of the project components Tatjana Milkamanovic (Lithuania), Cecilia Uneram (Sweden) and Anastasia Ezerets (Sweden) gave detailed speeches on the findings.

Armine Hayrapetyan, National Focalpoint for the DRR Sendai Framework, spoke about the capacity assessment report.

It should be noted that regardless of the restrictions created by the epidemic, the Swedish expert of the program C. Uneram is already in Yerevan city, participating in the meeting with his colleagues from the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The other expert, A. Ezerets, also from Sweden, will arrive in the coming days.

The meeting was attended by the heads of all components of the Twinning program and subcomponent experts from the Armenian side.

As a result of the meeting, upcoming events in the near future and their terms were maintained.
