Specialists of the MES “National Center of Technical Safety” participated in the conference of the Industrial safety intergovernmental council

The 18th conference of the Industrial safety intergovernmental council was held via video call, which was attended by the members of the Industrial safety intergovernmental council, the representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the representatives of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. On the rights of the chairperson the official opening of the conference was made by Alexey Alyoshin, the Head of Federal for Environmental, Industrial, and Nuclear Supervision Service of the Russian Federation.

Armenia was represented by the "National Center of Technical Safety" SNCO of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Vardan Gevorgyan, the Director of the NCTS, member of the Industrial safety intergovernmental council of the CIS member states made a speech on the reforms in this field in our country. He informed that the competencies of the MES as the authorized body in the field of technical safety were defined by the amendments made by the Law of RA on State Regulation of Technical Security on July 9, 2020. According to these changes, some functions of the authorized body were reserved for the newly established Urban Development, Technical Standards and Fire Safety Inspectorate.

The issues related to the methodology for organizing state control over industrial safety, the qualification of young specialists and experts in the field of industrial safety were also discussed.

After the speeches, the conference members summed up the results of the session.
