Ministry of Emergency Situations develops cooperation with “Yerkrapah Volunteers’ Union”

On August 19, the chairman of the “Yerkrapah Volunteers’ Union” department, Artsakh hero Lieutenant-General Manvel Grigoryan visited the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The purpose of the visit was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia and “Volunteers Union Yerkrapah” of the RA.
Lieutenant-General M. Grigoryan laid a wreath at the monument to the Devotees of salvation, as a sign of memory and respect. Then award solemn ceremony was held at the MES.
Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan, for dedicated service and contribution to the protection and promotion of country borders, as well as for close cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia, presented with medal “Glory Cross Noah” RA MES to Lieutenant-General Manvel Grigoryan, the Vice President of YVU department Khachik Mkrtchyan and the chairman of YVU Echmiadzin territorial division Karen Grigoryan were presented with medal “Honorary Worker of the Ministry of Emergency Situations”.
19 members of Yerkrapah Volunteers’ Union were presented with medal “Partnership for salvation”, 15 members with medal “Prevention, Assistance, Rescue”, 6 members -with medal “Valiant Rescuer” and 10 members with diplomas of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The chairman of YVU Manvel Grigoryan awarded the Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan with medal “Sparapet Vazgen Sargsyan”, and 50 employees of the MES, including members of the Artsakh liberation struggle, were awarded with YVU commemorative medals, medals and certificates.
After the award ceremony, demonstrative exercises were shown for the guests. According to the conventional training scenario, a building underwent a gas leak and explosion, resulting in a collapse of the staircases, a fire broke out injuring several persons. MES rescue squads successfully isolated the fire through special technical means, brought out the victims from the upper floors and provided appropriate assistance. A group of young Yerkrapah’s and young rescuers also partook at the demonstrative exercises.
Accompanied by the Minister of Emergency Situations, the guests walked along the territory of the Ministry, where the fire-rescue vehicles, rescue equipment and devices designed for rescue operations were shown.
The chairman of YVU Manvel Grigoryan also visited the Crisis Management Centre,which is equipped with the latest equipment, got familiarized with the ongoing activities.
At the end of the visit, in the MES conference hall was held the ceremony of signing a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Yerkrapah Volunteers’ Union. The Minister welcomed the participants, introduced the latest major achievements of the Ministry, stressed the importance of such cooperation, which enables the two structures to use their potential in civil defense activities:
“I am sure that after the signing of the document, it will be implemented and not die”.
From the conference hall, an online contact was established with the heads of NKR MA state emergency services and the RA MES regional rescue departments, who reported on the accidents registered during the week.
In his speech, the YVU’s chairman M. Grigoryan also stressed the importance of cooperation and the fact of having a strong structure of Emergency Situations in Armenia.
“Congratulations to all of you on the beautiful day and cooperation. I would like to take the opportunity and to thank for the organization of joint exercises and trainings in the camps”,- noted Lieutenant General M. Grigoryan.
