On August 18, at 10:01, National Seismic Protection Survey shared an information according which, an earthquake measuring 6.2 magnitude struck at 06:32 local time in Iran near the border with Iraq, 38km east from Dehloran city. The tremor measured magnitude 8 at the epicenter area.

The geographical coordinates of the epicenter are north width 32.690 and east length 47.660.
The hypocenter of the seismic activity was 10 kilometers beneath the surface.

The earthquake was followed by 22 aftershocks of magnitude 3.2-5.7.

The earthquake was not recorded in the RA.
