Minister of Emergency Situations received the Ambassador of Italy

On May 27, the Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia A. Yeritsyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic Giovanni Ricciulli.

This is the first official visit of the Ambassador to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which aims to get better acquainted with the activities of the ministry and mission, and to consider possible areas of cooperation.

Minister of Emergency Situations, welcoming Giovanni Ricciulli congratulated on his appointment to this position and briefly introduced the history of the ministry, the structure and basic functions.


-Yet, in 2008, with the Service of Civil Protection of Italy was signed a Memorandum of Understanding, but for some reason was not developed active cooperation, -the minister said, - I hope that after your visit we will go further.

Ambassador Ricciulli noted, that he is very glad for this meeting, as the Ministry of Emergency Situations is a very important structure for the country:

-I assure you, that I personally and the embassy will do everything possible to promote cooperation. I would like to clarify the scope of our cooperation to see in what areas we can work together.

During the meeting, an agreement was reached to create a small working group at the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which with the Italian Embassy representative will discuss possible areas of cooperation and present proposals for further steps.

Ambassador Ricciulli toured the building of the Ministry, got acquainted with the working conditions and technical equipment, as well as visited the crisis management center.
