A. GEVORGYAN RECEIVED THE DELEGATION FROM DEIR ZOR STATE OF SYRIA

RA Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan today received the delegation from Deir Zor State of United Stat of Syria headed by Governor Hussein Arnusy.

Greeting the host Deputy Prime Minister mentioned that development of various co operations with Syria is of primary importance for our country. Recently high level return visits between two countries, intergovernmental documents, as well as friendly and warm personal relationships create strong basis for bilateral close cooperation development. The parties mutually put emphasis on straightening and deepening collaboration in various spheres.

Issues related to Armenian-Syrian cooperation were discussed, as well as issues related to promotion of opportunities in interregional level. Deputy Prime Minister expressed his hope that the provisions of recently signed cooperation agreement between Ararat region and Deir Zor State will soon come into force becoming one more sample of efficient collaboration between two friendly nations.

A. Gevorgyan mentioned that Armenian nation remember with sincere gratitude the invaluable assistance of Syria in fatal historical moments, and Armenian community in Syria is a reliable bridge between two nations and States. He informed the hosts, that on a group of Armenians’ in Syria initiative, with the assistance of RA Government and Yerevan municipality, almost completed the construction of memorial symbolizing Armenian-Arabic friendship as a profound gratitude for compassioning attitude of Arabic nation towards Armenians rescued in Genocide.
