The water-supply issues of three marzes were discussed

Today the RA Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration Hovik Abrahamyan discussed the projects on reconstruction of water-supply system and drainage in the populated areas of Armavir, Lori and Shirak marzes.

The projects are funded by KFW and implemented by “Nor Akung” CJSC, “Lori Water Supply and Sewerage “CJSC and “Shirak Water Supply and Sewerage” CJSC in the framework of Armenian-German joint financial cooperation.

These projects allow to solve water-supply issues in the town of Armavir, Metsamor and the neighboring areas of Armavir marz, in Vanadzor and 16 populated areas of Lori marz, in Gyumri, Maralik and 35 populated areas of Shirak marz.

The works in Shirak marz are at the final stage of completion, it is planned to finish the activities in Lori and Shirak marzes in 2009.

The imperfections and omissions, as well as issues of staff training, technical retooling of CJSC, implementing services in the field of water-supply, were also discussed.

The RA Deputy Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan noted that progress in the issues of water-supply is obvious, but there are a lot of problems, which are left unsolved. Hovik Abrahamyan noted that the positive improvements of implemented activities must be on hand, especially taking into consideration that necessary technical conditions are available.
