Optimization Projects of the Health care system of Marzes were discussed

The implementation process of the optimization projects of the health care system of marzes, which was approved by the RA Governmental Decision # 1911-N, 02.11.2006, was discussed today at the meeting, conducted by Hovik Abrahamyan, the RA Deputy Prime-Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration of the RA.
As a result of the optimization projects of the health care systems of marzes the hospitals and polyclinics that repeatedly carry out the same functions and deliver the same services with fewer personnel and laboratory-diagnostic services will be mergered. In case of necessity the local polyclinics, hospitals, as well as rural health care out-patients' clinics will be separated by the local/territorial polyclinics. All this is for the creation of the offices of independent family doctors with the aim to provide favorable conditions.
As a result the number of the hospitals in the mazes will be decreased by 5 and polyclinics by 30. 8 specialized dispensaries and stationary divisions of 13 healthcare centers will be abolished and about 80 000 square meters of territory.
Each marz will introduce the implementation process of the issues and obstacles raised to the Hovik Abrahamyan, the RA Deputy Prime-Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration of the RA.
The RA Deputy Prime-Minister entrusted marzes to finish the planning and calculation activities by September 25 and start the construction activities in October.
During the meeting the marzpets (governers of marzes) presented the implementation process of the activities fulfilled in the framework of the financial means (9 billion 817 million 800 thousand) allocated according to the RA Governmental Decision on the Provision of financial means.
A number of other issues were also discussed.
