On January 15, at 10։01 an emergency call was received to Kotayk regional crisis management center that explosion had occurred in an apartment of the building 20 in the 3rd block in Charentsavan town.

Two fire units from the Fire and Rescue Squads of Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MES of RA dispatched to the scene.

It turned out that the explosion occurred as a result of a gas leak (without fire) in the kitchen of the apartment: the outer wall of the balcony was damaged, about 14 square meters was separated from the constructions, the interior wall (about 2 square meters) of the kitchen and bedroom partially collapsed, the interior wall of the living room (about 12 square meters) was weakened and damaged, the furniture of the apartment and the windows broke.

The windows of the apartments on the 3rd and 2nd floors of the adjacent building were shattered as a result of the explosion.

The residents of the apartment A․ K. (born 1936) and D․ K. (born in 1948) received appropriate medical care on the spot.

The rescuers blocked off the back of the building.
