The fire broken out in the building of “Malatia mall” was extinguished

On August 25, at 05:24 the fire broken out in the building of “Malatia mall” situated at 141/5 Sebastia of Yerevan was isolated.

By 08:30 13 fire units from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Yerevan Rescue Department, 2 auto-ladders, the Emergency Response Group of the National Crisis Management Center of the Rescue Service of MES, a special car from gas protection service and 2 “KamAZ” cars from Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center were involved in firefighting activities.

Seven casualties were taken to “Astghik” medical center and “Armenia” Republican medical center and got necessary medical aid and were discharged.

19 fire units, 2 auto-ladders, the rescue squad of the Center for Carrying out Activities of Special Importance of the Rescue Forces Department, the Emergency Response and Operative Groups of the National Crisis Management Center, the duty group of the Center for Disaster Medicine and the instructor on psychological consultation of the Psychological Support Center of the Rescue Service of MES of RA (overall 434 rescuers) took part in firefighting activities. Water vehicles were provided by the municipality.

The information about the firefighting activities was being reported to MES Minister.

At 13:53 the fire was extinguished.

It turned out that the fire had broken out in the area of “Vega World” Ltd situated at 145/6 Sebastia street of Yerevan.

As a result of the fire woodworking machines and laminate were burnt on the ground floor of “Vega World” Ltd, laminate, household technique and furniture were burnt on the 1st floor and furniture was burnt on the 2nd and 5th floors.

On August 24, at 15:47 an emergency call was received to “911” service that a fire had broken out in the building of “Malatia mall” situated in Sebastia street of Yerevan: there were casualties.

6 fire units from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Yerevan Rescue Department, 2 auto-ladders, the rescue squad of the Center for Carrying out Activities of Special Importance, the Operative and Emergency Response Groups of the National Crisis Management Center, as well as the instructor on psychological consultation of the Psychological Support Center of the Rescue Service of MES of RA dispatched to the scene.

At 16:31 the fire complexity level was raised to “N3” emergency call: 5 more fire units from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Yerevan Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of MES of RA dispatched to the scene.

According to preliminary data there were 8 casualties.

Proceed from necessity 2 fire units from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Yerevan Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of MES of RA dispatched to the scene. Later 6 fire units left for the scene.

19 fire units, 2 auto-ladders, the rescue squad of the Center for Carrying out Activities of Special Importance of the Rescue Forces Department, the Operative and Emergency Response Groups of the National Crisis Management Center, as well as the instructor on psychological consultation of the Psychological Support Center of the Rescue Service of MES of RA were involved in firefighting activities.

By the order of MES Minister Feliks Tsolakyan a rescue-working group consisting of 30 members was established in order to support the firefighting activities. Members of the group left for the scene. Minister Feliks Tsolakyan returned the scene.
